In 1988, Tahnee Welch got attacked and mugged outside her apartment in Manhattan when she returned from late-night grocery shopping. Two men knocked her, punched her on the face, and snatched her purse.

Local people admitted her to the hospital, and she had several stitches and had a bruised left eye. She also had scrapes to her face and hand and back pains. Police caught one of the two men and charged him with two counts of robbery.
