At the 2018 Winter Olympics, she won Netherlands’ first since forever gold award in short track speed skating and got one of the most youthful ever Dutch Winter Olympic heroes.
She won a gold decoration in the 1500m occasion at the 2016 World Junior Championships in Sofia. At the 2018 Winter Olympics, she won a bronze award in the ladies’ 3000-meter transfer and gold decoration in the ladies’ 1000 meters. At twenty years of age, she is the second most youthful Dutch gold medalist in any order at a Winter Olympics.
