When Spider-Man: Homecoming arrived into the cinemas, it had a huge Easter egg in its wake. While the introduction of Donald Glover’s character had referenced to Miles Morales, one of the deleted scenes from the movie had the name of this iconic Spider-Man character being mentioned.
The digital HD version of Spider-Man: Homecoming has been released before the arrival of the physical Blu-ray and DVD versions. The digital version has loads of scenes that were cut from the movie, and you can hear Miles being mentioned in one of them. It is not a reference to something heroic, but, just Glover’s fault.
In that scene, Aaron Davis was waiting beside his car after having been webbed to his car by the Spider-Man. The character played by Glover is seeking help and blabbering about his suffering as people walk past him.
“That’s what I get for helping,” the character is shown to mutter before he starts shouting for help. “Excuse me, a human being needs help. I hate this dude man.”
Later when Aaron is talking on the phone, that’s when we realize who was on the other side of the line.
“I’m sorry, Miles – I’m not going to make it,” Aaron spoke. “Yeah, I’m just stuck.”
This mention of Miles only consolidates the link that the film had the Spider-Man hero. In case you don’t have an idea about Miles Morales, then you need to do a bit of catching up with the Marvel history. He is the guy who has taken over as the latest Spider-Man heroes and has replaced Peter Parker in the Ultimate universe. After the debut of Miles, the character has become extremely popular and has compelled Marvel to introduce Miles into the continuation of the main Comics.
Aaron is a blood relation to Miles. The character played by Glover happens to be Miles’ uncle, and he is the guy who gave him the Spider powers. Aaron works under the moniker The Prowler, and he stole the formula through which Peter Parker obtained his powers. However, Miles ended up getting bitten by the spider stolen by Aaron, giving him Spider-Man powers as well as a lot of responsibilities that come along with such power.
