Yeji had no intentions of becoming an actress or pursuing a career in the entertainment industry but Yeji’s life took a turn after she caught the attention of the CEO of a management company called Made in Chan Entertainment,

which had also previously managed Yeji. The Company’s CEO was able to convince Yeji to take up acting when she finally made an appearance in a commercial for SK Telecom in March 2013.
