The record-breaking Avengers: Infinity War trailer left its fans with many questions.

We saw Thanos join the fray to collect the six Infinity Stones, the all-powerful tools forged by the universe’s oldest cosmic entities.

The purple-skinned villain’s mission threatens the world, forcing the heroes of MCU including the Avengers, the Guardians of the Galaxy, Spider-Man, Black Panther and Doctor Strange to assemble for the very first time.

WHO THROWS A SPEAR AT STEVE ROGERS?

One of the followers makes a brief appearance in the trailer, launching a spear caught by Steve Rogers. The attacker is Proxima Midnight, a member of Thanos’ menacing guard, The Black Order.

The Black Order is not just Thanos’ acolytes, but they are his children.

A recent addition to the Marvel Comics, Proxima Midnight was a master combatant and Thanos’ most fierce warriors.

Proxima’s siblings are Ebony Maw, Cull Obsidian, and Corvus Glaive — the latter being the only Black Order member to make an appearance in this trailer.

HOW DOES BRUCE BANNER END UP IN DOCTOR STRANGE’S SANCTUM SANCTORUM?

In the earliest moments of the trailer, a dazed Bruce Banner lies in rubble. He is discovered by Doctor Strange and Wong. The location is revealed to be Strange’s Sanctum Sanctorum in New York’s Greenwich Village.

We last saw Bruce Banner with Thor, Loki and other Asgardians aboard a ship which was confronted by the Sanctuary II, a massive, ship of Thanos.

It is clear that some kind of scuffle had happened. The trailer confirms Loki has the Tesseract, one of Thanos’ highly-coveted Infinity Stones. Does Hulk fall from the sky onto earth during a fight?

Hulk did not happen to land in the Sanctum Sanctorum. He had been sent there by Loki who knows of Doctor Strange’s headquarters.

WHAT’S WITH ALL THE DEAD BODIES?

Loki only appears briefly in the trailer, but things aren’t looking good for Thor’s scheming half-brother.

At the end of Thor: Ragnarok, Loki helps to shepherd the Asgardians onto a spaceship. Thanos seizes the ship and lays waste to the Asgardians aside from Hulk, who makes it back to Earth for the first time in many years.

It will be tragic if all of the Asgardians were whisked away from Asgard before its destruction.

Will Loki, upon seeing the dead Asgardians at littering the ground, hand the Infinity Stone over without a fight?

WHAT IS THAT RING FLOATING OVER QUEENS?

Peter Parker is on a bus when his spider sense is triggered, and he directs his attention to an object hovering above Queens.

Spider-Man leaps into action and lands on the circular gears. The piece of alien machinery is doing something, but the question is, what?

Does it open a portal? Is the big circle donut after something?

WHEN DOES SPIDER-MAN DON HIS “IRON SPIDER” ARMOR?

At the end of Spider-Man: Homecoming, Peter was awarded a new, Iron Man-inspired Spider-Man suit by Tony Stark.

“Friendly Neighborhood Spider-Man,” Peter says. “Somebody’s gotta look out for the little guy, right?”

In Infinity War, Spidey is seen racing into action in his high-tech digs.

Either Peter took Tony up on the offer after Homecoming, or the hero spots the giant, floating circle thing and contacts Mr. Stark, who tells him to sit this one out.

Because Peter is well, Peter and there are people to help, Tony lets Underoos in on the action, but with the caveat he suits up in his new “Iron Spider” armor.

All these questions and more will be answered when Avengers: Infinity War hits theaters May 4.
