The actress to co-star as Janet Van Dyne in Ant-Man and The Wasp, has revealed that she would love to reprise her role as Selina Kyle from 1992’s Batman Returns. But she said that she does not want to revisit a memorable scene which was created before CGI where she put a live bird in her mouth.
“I can’t believe I did that,” Pfeiffer told Variety. “I could have gotten a disease.”
The three-time Academy Award nominee expressed how pleased she was that Batman Returns is one of the best films in this franchise. “It was all Tim Burton, she said. “He was able to bring this heart and darkness and humor to it.”
After the success of Batman Returns, Pfeiffer was to reprise the role of Selina in a Catwoman spinoff. But the film labored in hell, no doubt complicated by the release of Batman Forever and by Batman and Robin. The Catwoman that arrived in 2004 had Halle Berry and bore little resemblance to the planned spinoff.
Pfeiffer will next be seen in Murder on the Orient Express, which opens Nov. 10. Marvel’s Ant-Man and the Wasp arrives July 6, 2018.
