After the high school, Mariska Hargitay was awarded as Miss Beverley Hills, USA and had a few acting gigs to her name by freshman year. She revealed in an interview that she would’ve never thought about working as a television actor until she was offered a role in adventure drama series Downtown.

Later, she went on to secure a recurring role in the soap opera Falcon Crest (1988) where she played the role of Carly Fixx. She also worked in Tequila and Boneti, Can’t Hurry Love, Prince Street and in the fourth season of ER. She has appeared in numerous other television shows such as Ellen, Baywatch and Seinfeld.
