After disbanding the group Xscape, she focused on songwriting and production. In 2000, Kandi released her debut album Key Knadi… The single of the album Don’t Think I’m Not that ranked 72 on US Billboard 200. In 2009, Kandi came up with her debut EP Fly Above EP.

Her second album was KandiKoated and it was released in 2010. In 2009, she took part in the reality television series The Real Housewives of Atlanta. She is still on the show. Kandi has a child with her ex-boyfriend Russell Block Spencer. She also dated Ashley A.J. Jewell. In 2014, she married Todd Tucker, with whom she has two children.
