Justice League had a dismal opening weekend, but, now the film seems to be gaining legs at the box office.

Justice League added $10.6 million to its tally on Tuesday. It means that the film earned an impressive 41 percent more on Tuesday in comparison to Monday and took its domestic box office total to $111.9 million in five days.

This 41 percent rise is important because it is the best increase seen for a number one film at the box office prior to the Thanksgiving week in ten years, and last years’ number ones usually gained an increase ranging in the mid-30 percentage points maximum. Now the long holiday weekend is here, and Justice League might just recover some of the lost ground.

Justice League had made $94 million during its first weekend at the box office and failed to meet the industry estimates about the film earning between $100 million to $120 million in its opening weekend.

The opening weekend numbers for Justice League were the least for any DCEU film. In comparison Man of Steel had opened to $116.6 million, Batman v Superman: Dawn of Justice to $166 million, Suicide Squad $133.7 million and Wonder Woman had a record-shattering 103.2 million opening weekend.

Justice League’s tally made it the eighth-highest opening weekend film this year, slightly behind The Fate of the Furious (but, it will most likely go down at least one more space after Star Wars: The Last Jedi will release in December) and it is the 56th best all-time opening, behind Guardians of the Galaxy.

Justice League is now all set to face stiff competition during the holiday weekend when Pixar’s Coco, the all-time highest grosser in Mexico, which has a 96 percent Rotten Tomatoes score, will release in theaters.

Justice League is doing better in the international markets where it made about %185 million in its opening weekend.

Justice League is currently playing in theaters all over the world, and it will be followed in the DC Extended Universe by Aquaman on December 21, 2018, Wonder Woman 2 on November 1, 2019, Shazam on April 5, 2019, Cyborg in 2020, and Green Lantern Corps in 2020.
