An online petition for Zack Snyder’s cut of Justice League has been launched, and it garnered over 30,000 signatures in its quest to land on 35,000. The petition is being signed by fans who were very disappointed with Joss Whedon’s directorial stamp on the movie, which they felt had diminished proceedings and contributed to the movie’s mediocre reviews.
Whedon had been brought in to finish the movie this year, both in the post-production and reshooting phase. Producer, Charles Roven had revealed that Whedon might have shot around 15 to 20 percent of the movie and in the petition, it is the re-shot scenes and Whedon’s splicing in of humor to shift the DCEU to a lighter tone that harmed the movie.
The petition states that Whedon’s approach was similar to the MCU and that it took away from Snyder’s vision.
This petition has slammed the studio for shortening the movie’s run-time to two hours, as Snyder’s Man of Steel and Batman vs. Superman: Dawn of Justice had clocked in at two-and-a-half hours which made the movie rushed and seems like it was trying to cram in too many new faces while having to balance Steppenwolf’s invasion and Superman’s return.
Justice League is playing in theatres and stars Ben Affleck (Batman), Henry Cavill (Superman), Amy Adams (Lois Lane), Gal Gadot (Wonder Woman), Jason Momoa (Aquaman), Ezra Miller (The Flash), Raymond Fisher (Cyborg), Willem Dafoe (Vulko), Jeremy Irons (Alfred Pennyworth), Diane Lane (Martha Kent), Connie Nielsen (Queen Hippolyta), Amber Heard (Mera) and J.K. Simmons (Commissioner Gordon).
