This week a lot of fans used social media to express their anguish regarding the Amazons’ Justice League costumes and a lot of people considered them to be less than practical and an unwarranted diversion from the costumes that we saw in Wonder Woman earlier. The controversy became massive enough to make one of the Amazons respond, and she is unaffected by the criticism.
The social media debates arose over a post showing two pictures of the Amazons side-by-side. One of those was from Wonder Woman and the other from Justice League, and it highlighted the variance between the two movies. Unlike the combat armor shown in Wonder Woman which covered more of the torso, the new costumes for Justice League show a lot of skin. Although, it offended fans, one of the actresses shown in the photo has stated that she is at ease with the change.
Brooke Ence plays the character of Amazon Penthiselea in both films, and she spoke to USAToday. She said that although the image being circulated might suggest so, but, not all Amazons in the movie will wear the two-piece. Ence also stated that the new costumes “felt a little more glamorous.”
The fans’ displeasure about the changed costumes is understandable, but, we must note that the previous photos validate what Ence has stated about only a few of the Amazons wearing the two-pieces for the mega movie. Frankly, these very photos were similar to what we saw in Wonder Woman earlier. Come Friday and fans can decide for themselves if the change is unnecessary when Justice League releases.
Justice League will release on Friday, November 17 and features Ben Affleck as Batman, Gal Gadot as Wonder Woman, Henry Cavill as Superman, Amy Adams as Lois Lane, Jason Momoa as Aquaman, Ezra Miller as The Flash, Ray Fisher as Cyborg, Jeremy Irons as Alfred Pennyworth, Diane Lane as Martha Kent, Willem Dafoe as NuidisVulko, Ciarán Hinds as Steppenwolf, Jesse Eisenberg as Lex Luthor and J.K. Simmons as Commissioner Gordon.
