Fans have no idea about when, but, Netflix is planning to bring on The Punisher at some point this year. Marvel has unveiled the first trailer of the series earlier which gave the fans a proper view of the transformation that Frank Castle has undergone from the season two of Daredevil.

But, if you believe you have seen the Punisher already then you need to rethink.

Bernthal for recently at Salt Lake City Comic Con and had a panel Q&A with fans. He was asked about his approach to the troubled past of Frank Castle and he confessed that the character has not yet morphed into the Punisher.

“The way I look at it is that his time in the military is sort of separate. The character that was in Daredevil season two, that wasn’t the Punisher to me,”Bernthal said.

That was a man that this traumatic event – he’s still reeling from that. Everything in his life has been a reaction to that,” the actor further remarked. “He’s not a guy looking to rid the criminal element of Hell’s Kitchen; He could care less about that. He’s not about that.”

Bernthal went on to explain about the fact that Daredevil had a restricted take on Frank Castle. The show featured him singularly focused on killing everyone who had any sort of association with the murder of his family. Bernthal didn’t say as to what all changes at the beginning of The Punisher, however, the fans can assume that it will focus a lot more on the military past of Frank.

Bernthal has earlier spoken about the mission that Frank undertakes in The Punisher. He told Entertainment Weekly that he is definitely going to be on a mission though the mission is likely to be different from what he did in Daredevil.
