Jim Carrey has been hinting that he is seriously considering starring in sequels for Ace Ventura: Pet Detective and The Mask.
Ace Ventura has spawned a 1995 follow-up and an animated television series and also the 2007 movie Ace Ventura Jr.
A second Mask installment was announced on the movie’s release in 1994 but the project was sadly abandoned after Carrey refused to sign.
Carrey has revealed that he is open to revisiting some of his past successes.
The 49-year-old had joked to Extra: “I think I should be a part of one of my sequels, finally. I am in the mood to revisit a couple of things that I did. Kids are coming up to me about The Mask and Ace and all these things constantly. You know, [it’s a new] generation [of fans].”
Carrey had disclosed earlier this month that he is open to returning for sequels of Dumb and Dumber and Bruce Almighty and said, “We’re talking about maybe returning to some old characters that everyone has been asking about.”
