There was a rumor yesterday about Matt Reeves, the director of the next Batman film, having met with Jake Gyllenhaal about him replacing Ben Affleck as Batman in DCEU. Now, an old video is doing the rounds regarding the rumor, and it shows Gyllenhaal discuss how he would portray the character.
Gyllenhaal had appeared on The Howard Stern Show back in July 2015, and he was asked about how he would portray the Batman voice in case he gets a chance to play the role. He did a funny take on the legendary character and his famous film catchphrase, and although, he wasn’t serious about the way he would sound, he did give a glimpse into how he considers the Batman mechanisms.
Gyllenhaal had given auditions for the part of Bruce Wayne/Batman at the time of casting of Batman Begins by Christopher Nolan, but, he ended up conceding the role to Christian Bale. His sister Maggie Gyllenhaal has been a part of that movie’s sequel, The Dark Knight.
Justice League is now playing in theaters all over the world and it stars Ben Affleck as Batman, Henry Cavill as Superman, Amy Adams as Lois Lane, Gal Gadot as Wonder Woman, Jason Momoa as Aquaman, Ezra Miller as The Flash, Raymond Fisher as Cyborg, Willem Dafoe as Vulko, Jeremy Irons as Alfred Pennyworth, Diane Lane as Martha Kent, Connie Nielsen as Queen Hippolyta, Amber Heard as Mera and J.K. Simmons as Commissioner Gordon.
