Hugh Jackman has regaled fans by playing Wolverine for almost 17 years, and fans simply longed to see him put on the iconic costume and mask of the comic book superhero. The wish didn’t come to fruition as the actor was seen in the adamantium claws for a final time in the Fox Studios movie Logan. Now, giving up the role doesn’t prevent Jackman from tempting the fans with a one-night-only portrayal of the Wolverine, for the Halloween night that is.
Jackman shared a photo on Twitter that showed him holding a new Wolverine costume, the kind that you can find in a typical pop-up Halloween store during the scary festive time. The photo was captioned by Jackman,“Just maybe I will finally wear blue and yellow spandex for my #halloweencostume #tootall.”
This is not the only occasion when the actor has teased fans with the blue-and-yellow Wolverine suit after his last Wolverine film directed by James Mangold. Jackman had shared a photo in March on Instagram, where he held a plastic mask of Wolverine similar to the one in the costume in the Twitter photo, and he called it “THE Mask.” Also, he had shared a photo in February which showed a Wolverine action figure dressed in the brown and tan costume which we saw in Uncanny X-Men #139 which had given a few fans fake hope just before the Logan released in theaters.
Jackman’s appearance as the adamantium-clawed mutant is over, but, Fox is set to release three new X-Men films in 2018, and these are The New Mutants, Deadpool 2 and X-Men: Dark Phoenix which are scheduled to come out on April 1, 2018, June 1, 2018, and November 2, 2018, respectively.
