Kit Harington, aka Jon Snow from Game of Thrones, has gotten engaged to a former Game of Thrones actress. He pledged his allegiances to Rose Leslie, who played Ygritte in the show. Harington had his first sex scene with Leslie.
The couple had announced the engagement in a newspaper in their hometown:
Mr K.C. Harington and Miss R.E. Leslie
The engagement is announced between Kit, younger son of David and Deborah Harington of Worcestershire, and Rose, middle daughter of Sebastian and Candy Leslie of Aberdeenshire.
The relationship began as an on-screen romance between them in earlier. Harington had admitted that he loved Rose while they were filming in Iceland. The couple recently bought a home and moved in together before they had announced their engagement.
While the news of the engagement has excited many fans, it would not be a Game of Thrones relationship without a hint of a biological relationship between them. Twitter users have traced the family history of both of them and have made a connection that they are distantly related.
Making George R.R.Martin very proud, a snippet from Harington’s the family history read:
Through his paternal grandmother, Lavender Cecilia Denny, Harington’s eighth-great-grandfather was Charles II of England.
Whereas Leslie’s stated:
Her mother is Candida Mary Sibyl ‘Candy’ Leslie (née Weld) of Clan Fraser, maternal great-granddaughter of Simon Fraser, 13th Lord Lovat, and descendant of Charles II of England.
And putting ends together, Harington and Leslie are related to Charles II of England.
Harington and Leslie have not commented on this relation as of now. They just made the relationship public last year. When he was asked about the relationship in an interview with L’Uomo Vogue, Harington said:
“If you’re already attracted to someone, and then they play your love interest in the show, it becomes very easy to fall in love.”
