At a very young age, she became a close associate of Giada’s maternal grandfather, film producer Dino De Laurentiis. She spent a lot of time in the DDL Food show, her grandfather’s restaurant. She graduated from Marymount High School in Los Angeles. She then enrolled in the University of California, Los Angeles, earning her bachelor’s degree in social anthropology in 1996.

De Laurentiis was married to Todd Thompson, a fashion designer until 2014, and had a child with him. At present, she is romantically involved with T.V. producer Shane Farley.
