Thor Ragnarok is an upcoming Marvel movie which directly lead to Avengers Infinity War. It was inspired by Jack Kirby’s Ragnarok comic where Asgard is burnt and rebuilt from ashes. The plot of Thor: Ragnarok is on Thor’s struggle to stop the goddess of death from destroying his planet. Critics have heaped praise on TaikaWaititi’s direction and the fun elements in the movie.
Apart from the usual cast including Chris Hemsworth, Tom Hiddleston (Loki), Anthony Hopkins (Odin) and Idris Elba (Heimdall), the movie features Cate Blanchett as Hela; Jeff Goldblum as the grandmaster; Tessa Thomson as Valkyrie; Karl Urban as Skurge and Mark Ruffalo as Bruce Banner/ Hulk.
The poster of Thor Ragnarok shows Hela towering as though she is a threat looming over Thor’s head.In the trailer, Hela holds Mjolnir. The details of this plot hints that Thor will part with his hammer before being sent to Sakaar.
It is just a few weeks for the release of Thor Ragnarok and Marvel leaves no stone unturned to cash in this enormous buzz that the movie has generated. The studio launched 31-day social media campaign titled “HelaWeen”. There is a new poster and it provides a look into this character and shows her deer antlers/headdress thing.

The stars of this movie are on a press tour to promote it. The Australian TV show “The Project” had invited Hemsworth and Ruffalo to talk on Thor: Ragnarok. People made fun of Thorlosinghis hammer and hair. But a main reporter revealed the movie’s most devastating secret.
“The reporter said “Hela, as most fans know, is the Goddess of Death who destroys Thor’s hammer and attempts to take over Asgard. She also happens to be Thor’s Sister”.
Chris Hemsworth cringed and replied-
“That’s a no-no dude!” but he knows that cat is out of the bag now.”
The worst part is that there were people watching this interview who are not comic-book enthusiasts nor have read about Norse mythology and now know the relationship between Thor and Hela.
Here’s the official synopsis of the movie:
“Imprisoned on the other side of the universe, the mighty Thor finds himself in a deadly gladiatorial contest that pits him against the Hulk, his former ally and fellow Avenger. Thor’s quest for survival leads him in a race against time to prevent the all-powerful Hela from destroying his home world and the Asgardian civilization”.
The movie will be action packed and be the shortest Marvel movie. In continuing with the traditions of Thor movies, Kenneth Branagh’s Thor was 114 minutes, Alan Taylor’s Thor: The Dark World was 112 minutes long but Thor: Ragnarok will just have 100 minutes runtime. TaikaWaititi said to Collider:
“The cut right now, I reckon it’s about 100 minutes. It’s not gonna be a very, very long film. I think that stories are better when you leave them wanting more, and this film moves at a clip, it’s got stuff happening all the time. I think people are still gonna feel exhausted by the end; they’ve been on this big journey and stuff, so I don’t think we need the film to be three hours”.
From the look and feel of it, it seems there are all the ingredients present in the movie to become a huge blockbuster. The movie will hit theatres on November 3, 2017.
