If word-of-mouth is an indication, Ezra Miller’s Flash is the highlight of Justice League. He will play the Scarlet Speedster next in the solo movie, Flashpoint. Though the details about the upcoming project have been scarce, we’ve been slowly getting information. And thanks to a new EW interview with Ezra Miller and DC’s chief creative officer Geoff Johns, it seems very likely that we’ll be seeing Batman in Flashpoint as well.

The Bat In Flashpoint

Flashpoint by the universe-resetting nature will have to involve some key characters from the DC world as they play very crucial roles in the comic books. And thanks to Geoff Johns’s remarks, it seems like the Dark Knight is all but confirmed:

There are elements in it that we’re going to be playing into that we couldn’t do anywhere else. The scale of it, the Batman story of it all.”

Although Wonder Woman, Aquaman and many famous DC superheroes play a role in the comics, Batman is an integral character. He is no Bruce Wayne, but Thomas Wayne who was never murdered.

The Future of Flashpoint

So, if this movie follows the comics, who will play Thomas Wayne? The Walking Dead’s Jeffery Dean Morgan is an obvious answer since he had portrayed the role in Batman v. Superman.

Morgan suggested that might play Batman in the Flashpoint movie and if this is the case, then it may mean that The Walking Dead alum, Lauren Cohen will be the Joker. Before Justice League had been released, there were rumors that the future of Flashpoint will hinge on the success of Justice League and because the Snyder-Whedon movie is a flop, the future is now uncertain. Maybe it hinges on Aquaman and Wonder Woman 2.

For those of us who wish to cling on to hope, Johns’s remark about Batman’s inclusion in Flashpoint is something to be excited about.
