Dwayne Johnson’s introduction to DCEU as Black Adam comes in the upcoming Suicide Squad sequel.
According to a report from The Wrap, the early plans for Suicide Squad 2 will have the team of misfits being given the task of tracking down a weapon of mass destruction. The weapon is Johnson’s anti-hero, Black Adam, maybe best known for being the arch nemesis of Shazam, whose movie is developing with the casting of Shazam and Billy Batson.
The report has not yet been confirmed by Warner Bros. though Johnson teased ” a cool surprise for Black Adam that [he] can’t reveal, regarding where we will see Black Adam being introduced” in an interview. There is no date for the Black Adam solo movie.
A few details about the movie are available, but it is expected to see the return of Margot Robbie (Harley Quinn), Will Smith (Deadshot), Jared Leto (The Joker) and Viola Davis (Amanda Waller).
Written and directed by David Ayer, 2016’s Suicide Squad had received mixed reviews and earned $745.6 million worldwide, and there was acclaim for Robbie’s performance as Harley Quinn.
