The Marvel shows have been highly successful on Netflix, and now the MCU is anticipated to be heading towards a new chapter after the upcoming Avengers 4. It has given hope to a lot of Daredevil fans about The Devil of Hell’s Kitchen appearing on the big screen. Sadly, the Daredevil star Charlie Cox doesn’t expect that to happen in the near future.
During this weekend’s ACE Comic Con in Long Island, Cox was questioned about any possibilities of him appearing in a Marvel Cinematic Universe movie. Cox replied no an also said that he hasn’t been contacted for anything like that.
“Not that I’m aware of,” Cox said. “That’s not a conversation that has been had with me, certainly.”
If Daredevil does get a film within the MCU, it won’t be the only time that the character has been portrayed on the big screen. The current Batman of DCEU, Ben Affleck had earlier played the character in 2003 film Daredevil. Although that film was successful at the box-office, it had mixed reviews from critics, and now that the Netflix series has become successful, many fans wish to see Cox play a new version of the character in a movie. Although it doesn’t sound possible at present, Cox did clarify why a film is not possible and how they are busy producing the show and also taking care of the other related shows in the Netflix segment of Marvel.
“The truth is we’re really busy with making the show, and we love making the show, and of course we had The Defenders, and that took up a lot of our time as well,” Cox said. “So, look, I think it would be a lot of fun and cool if they were to do that, but right now we’re just concentrating on the show.”
There is no doubt fans want them to focus on the show. The last appearance of Daredevil was when he seemed to perish in a building implosion at the climax of The Defenders, and then he was shown to be alive and regaining senses while being tended by nuns. Now that Daredevil Season 3 is not too far, fans would be eager to know how he survived that and also to find out if the series is going to be based on “Born Again” narrative.
The third season of Daredevil is likely to premiere on Netflix next year.
