Almost all DC fans have one question that they want the answer to- Will Ben Affleck be cast as Batman after Justice League? Most fans believe that Ben Affleck is one of the only actors who could do justice to the cape and cowl and hope to see him in upcoming DC movies.
Although there have been many rumors floating around that Ben won’t be playing the role of Batman, Affleck suggests that he will continue to be DC’s, Dark Knight.
But in an interview with his brother, Casey Affleck, he seemed to hint that Ben would be leaving DC. At the WEEI Sports Radio Network, when Affleck was asked if his brother would be starring in Matt Reeves’ Batman movie, he said, “He’s not going to do that film, I don’t think, or so I would say.”
But just as the audience could digest the news they had heard, the show host announces that Casey is “breaking news.” At this moment, Affleck withdrew the comment he had made.
“Is that breaking news? I was just kind of making that up,” he replied.
As an Oscar-winning actor and director, Casey Affleck’s words have a lot of weight. And playing pranks on audiences is highly likely to be on his cards.
After the interview, people are left confused as there was genuineness in his first comment and he was puzzled that no one was aware of the news. His immediate response that he had made it up also has to be noted.
After the story broke, Ben Affleck has not yet confirmed that he would continue to play the role of Batman after Justice League. Although he praised Matt Reeves’ directorial skills and heralded the upcoming solo Batman film, he only mentioned that he loved to work with Reeves. Ben never said that he would be working with the director for the next movie.
All the happenings seem to add up, and the fans trust that Casey Affleck knows the inside story. So, if you are still holding on to your seats and waiting for the answer, well, you have to wait. But not for too long! We can all find out on November 17 when Justice League starts playing in theatres.
