The Titans TV show found its Robin in Brenton Thwaites. The TV series headed in 2018 has found its key cast members, adapted from Teen Titans comics and animated series. The role of Dick Grayson was one the final piece of the puzzle for Greg Berlanti’s team.  Brenton Thwaites claims Robin the Boy Wonder, best known for roles in Pirates of the Caribbean film series, Gods of Egypt, and The Giver.

Fans hope that Grayson will become Nightwing: an independent member of the large Batman Family. Grayson needs to become a leader and this is where Titans look to generate adventure.  His character details has been limited to a few broad descriptors. Grayson has reached a point of career where he is striking out to create an identity of his own.

Geoff Johns has offered a welcome to Thwaites and praised the young actor and voicing his own excitement for what he will bring to the role of Batman’s former sidekick: Grayson is the most important heroes in DCU. Brenton has emotional depth, danger and physical presence of Batman’s former protege and the Titans’ future leader.

New casts include Australian Teagan Croft as Raven and Anna Diop as Starfire The rumored frontrunners for Titans‘ Hawk and Dove have yet to be pinned down, but with Dick Grayson now in place, expect more announcements to come soon.

Johns describes the Titans take on Grayson as “Batman’s former protege,” and “Titans’ future leader.” We will see Grayson when he is not a Robin… not yet a Nightwing.’

Some demand a specific superhero name be revealed though.  Not only is it true to the first incarnations of the Teen Titans story, but reinforces the previous reports of Titans introducing a Dick Grayson who feels betrayed by Batman.

In other words: if Geoff Johns and those associated with the show are hesitant about identifying Dick Grayson as ‘Robin’ or ‘Nightwing’ at this point in his story, then expect the TV version of Grayson to do the same.
