Bojana was born in Serbia on November 17, 1981. As a child, Bojana wanted to become a doctor or a social worker. However, as she grew up, she fell in love with acting and wanted to pursue performing arts. This led her to earn a degree in dramatic arts from the National Institute of Dramatic Arts (NIDA).

Bojana also has stage experience as she had performed in plays like Necessary Targets, Criminology, and Strange Fruits. Her performance in Criminology won her a nomination for the Green Room Awards.
