Justice League is playing in theaters, and the film’s promotional campaign is chugging along, this time a video has come up which shows the stars of this mega film playing with their action figures, in time for the holiday season. We see Ezra Miller (The Flash), Ray Fisher (Cyborg), Jason Momoa (Aquaman) and Gal Gadot (Wonder Woman) being totally delighted to play with their action figures, but, Ben Affleck (Batman) seemed as if his heart was elsewhere and he was looking nothing but a gloomy reminder of his self during the disastrous Batman v Superman press tour. Mentioning Superman, Henry Cavill is not seen in the video, and that might be because his action figure looks more like Benedict Cumberbatch than himself.
This new video was shared by Amazon as they promoted the brand new Justice League Mattel toys and as stated earlier, they all seemed to be really excited to check these action figures and how they are similar to their toy adaptations. Ezra Miller said, “I’m the happiest person who ever felt a feeling, and the feeling is happy.”
They are all excited, but, not Ben Affleck. When his turn to talk about his action figure came, he went beyond the usual to discuss the terrible experience of putting on the Batman costumes. Affleck said, “There are two Batsuits in the movie, this is the tactical suit with the goggles. Very uncomfortable to wear, but fun to play with.”
Apparently, even though he is promoting the children’s toys, Ben Affleck is hardly capable of maintaining a fake smile. This forced smile is quite likely to become the new “Sad Affleck” meme once the Justice League promotional tour is over. It is being speculated that Affleck will exit DCEU after Justice League promotions are done with, and this terrible action figure video could just be the final reminder for the actor who is probably worn out of the whole thing.
To be fair, Ben Affleck is facing a great deal of questions about sexual misconduct allegations of his own and also about his old friend and hero Harvey Weinstein. Recently during an appearance on The Late Show with Stephen Colbert, Affleck avoided the questions, saying “isn’t this supposed to be a comedy show?” However, this Mattel toys video had none of those questions or any question related to his potential DCEU exit, and it was only about an actor and his action figure as well as his costars enjoy seeing their similarity to something that kids all over the world will play with.
Justice League is at present the number one box office movie, even though it has been the least earning DCEU film in its opening weekend, but, it has a lot of time to make in good money over the next few weekends until The Last Jedi releases. Ben Affleck has indicated that he is fonder of grown-up toys and admitted that he stole a few Batarangs from Justice Leagueset which ultimately WB billed him for. Therefore, it is possible that Affleck is no longer in the children’s toys, despite his face being on them.
