This December, IDW Publishing’s Heroes in a Half-Shell and DC Comics’ Dark Knight will reunite for Batman/Teenage Mutant Ninja Turtles II, a sequel to the 2016 crossover miniseries.

Writer, James Tynion IV, and Freddie Williams II will be returning to continue their story:

“What DC and IDW started with Batman/TMNT in 2015 continues to spark interest with fans of these characters that have worldwide recognition,” DC’s SVP of Editorial Strategy & Administration Hank Kanalz said in a statement. “We can’t wait to see what James and Freddie deliver this time around.”

“The original crossover between Batman and the Turtles was met with such positive enthusiasm from the fans, that it was only a matter of time before their paths crossed again,” IDW President and COO Greg Goldstein added. “Fans have themselves to thank for making this a reality, yet again, and we’re confident that we can deliver the goods to meet their expectations with our talented creative team returning for round two.”

Along with the covers by Williams II, the Turtles’ co-creator, Kevin Eastman will be providing variant covers.

When Donatello sets off looking for a new mentor for his skills, he opens a doorway to another reality and hopes to summon the Turtles’ ally, Batman.

But instead, he gets sent Gotham City, and another person comes through the portal, Bane. There is a gang boss in New York, and he is out to unite the bad guys under him.

Can Donnie get back in time to bring Batman to help and his brothers before Bane causes destruction?

Written by James Tynion IV and the art done by Freddie Williams II, Batman/Teenage Mutant Ninja Turtles II #1 is set to arrive on December 6 with issue #2 which will follow two weeks later on December 20.
