Avengers: Infinity War May Bring Back Hela And The Ancient One

It seems like a few major characters might be returning for Avengers: Infinity War. The Marvel event movie seems to be a culmination of everything that has happened in MCU so far. This being the case, every main character will show up, briefly. And, if we can believe Mark Ruffalo, this may extend to presumably dead characters.

During an interview on Michael Rapaport’s I am Rapaport podcast, the man who created Hulk on the big screen had been asked which actors had left “the best impression” on him after having worked with them. He named Cate Blanchett, whom he had worked with on Thor: Ragnarok and more TildaSwinton who had portrayed The Ancient One in Doctor Strange. Since Ruffalo worked on Avengers: Infinity War, it seems plausible that he has worked with her on the movie.

This relies on connecting a couple of dots, but it makes sense. Marvel will not want to make TildaSwinton’s involvement in Avengers: Infinity War known as The Ancient One has died a meaningful death. That said, this does not mean she is going to come back to life. The Sorcerer Supreme, aka Benedict Cumberbatch has access to many planes. This being the case, he can somehow bring The Avengers into contact with The Ancient One and help them fight Thanos.

As for Cate Blanchett’sHela? It is possible that Mark Ruffalo meant that he was working with her on Thor: Ragnarok. People familiar with the Infinity Gauntlet storyline from Marvel Comics will note Hela, the Goddess of Death has a reason to show up in Avengers: Infinity War. One of the driving forces for Thanos is his love for Lady Death. He wants to impress her with a wave of death. Given Hela’s fate in Thor: Ragnarok, it is possible that she will come back.

A whole lot of this is speculative but there are more than enough breadcrumbs that make it seem like Hela and The Ancient One will be in Avengers: Infinity War. Also, Marvel will not go out and get the actors on the level of Cate Blanchett and TildaSwinton and use them once if there is an opportunity for more. Avengers: Infinity War will arrive in theaters on May 4, 2018.
