By far Avengers: Infinity War is promising to be the biggest movie of the year. A lot has been said by the directorial duo of Anthony and Joe Russo about the “67” characters which will be a part of the movie. However, the actual number appears to be even higher. Chris Hemsworth was promoting 12 Strong, and that’s when he revealed that the Avengers: Infinity War and Avengers 4 include “something like” 76 characters. Have a look at what he had said, while he praised the directors for making the two epic films.
“They’re going to be massive. I finished literally two days ago and I looked at (directors) Joe and Anthony (Russo) and said, ‘I don’t know how you guys have gotten this far and I don’t know how you’re going to hold it together and complete this thing, but my hat’s off to you.’ This is one of the biggest things in film history and to be a part of it was just incredible. I think what these characters are about to face, with Thanos, there’s been nothing quite like it. There are 76 cast members or something like that. I think what people are going to be excited about is what I was excited about and that’s Thor meeting the Guardians and Iron Man meeting Doctor Strange. The interactions between all of these characters and the different sorts of chemistry and the relationships that are formed is something that people are going to be pretty blown away by.”
The first trailer for Avengers: Infinity War featured Thor’s meeting Guardians of the Galaxy, and it had released soon after the release of Thor: Ragnarok. The post-credits of Ragnarok had a scene where Thor and Loki are shown face to face with a huge ship which was later confirmed to be the gigantic warship ‘Sanctuary 2’ belonging to Thanos. Although the Guardians were not shown then, it might be possible that they aided Thor and Loki’s escape from Thanos, but, that’s just a speculation. Chris Hemsworth also mentioned how he wished to see Thor: Ragnarok succeed “so badly,” and that he is delighted with the way the fans responded to his film.
“I wanted it to work so badly, and I knew that we left everything on the field, so I had such a positive feeling about our approach to making that movie. There was so much goodwill involved, and everyone was willing to try something different and take risks. So there was a great sense of pride that (director) Taika (Waititi) and I felt. The cast and the crew all felt we really went for it and swung for the fences. So, regardless of how it was going to do, I felt very happy with what we did. But, look, of course, I was surprised and happy and blown away by the response. We all wanted that to happen and felt it was something that could happen more so than ever before, and when it did, it was incredible.”
There are still more than three months to go before Avengers: Infinity War’s release, and it has been ranked as the most anticipated film of the year by IMDB and Fandango users. It might just be the first time in last three years that a non-Star Wars film is at the top spot on box office. Disney is all set to release its much controversial film Solo: A Star Wars Story on May 25, but, there are a lot of rumors doing rounds that the film will be postponed to December. These remarks were made by Chris Hemsworth in an interview with The Toronto Sun.
