In this week’s episode of DC’s Legends of Tomorrow, “Beebo the God of War,” the team had rescued a time-displaced version of late Martin Stein, who is given a letter by Jax Jackson which warns him of his future death during “Crisis on Earth-X.” Young Martin then decides to burn this letter so he can remain ignorant. This experience made Jax realize that he needed time to process the loss of his friend, so he left the Waverider.
That decision is not just a plot point, as Entertainment Weekly confirmed that actor Franz Drameh has left the CW drama. It is possible that he may return, but he is no longer a series regular.
Drameh’s departure follows on the steps of Victor Garber, whose Martin Stein had sacrificed himself for the sake of his fellow Legends. Stein, who planned to return to his family, offered a serum that would grant Jax Spider-Man-esque abilities, only to be told it was not Firestorm he would miss, but his friend.
Jax’s departure from the Waverider was accompanied by the appearance of Matt Ryan as John Constantine, who is on board the Waverider for a 2wo-episode arc. There is no indication that the magician will be permanent.
DC’s Legends of Tomorrow returns in February on The CW.
