At the precise moment when you feel, you have heard everything; John Mayer comes up with a claim that vaguely makes some sense: The Accountant is nothing else, but, a Batman film.
Written and starred by the present Batman star Ben Affleck, The Accountant is a story of a guy who alters the books of a new client when the Treasury Department is getting ready to pin him down. Things take a violent turn when Christian Wolff, the character played by Affleck, resorts to guns to protect himself and attack the enemies, which is in a way, similar to his thoughts about killing as seen in Batman v Superman: Dawn of Justice.
“[The Accountant is] a Bruce Wayne origin story,” Mayer tweeted. “We see that he is both trained in fighting and accounting. His father was shot. His trailer/storage space is the first bat-cave. He is beginning to acquire great wealth. His brother will become his arch nemesis.” We agree that some of the points are logical, but, overall, we can only surmise that Mayer was only having a fun moment..
Have a look at Mayer’s tweets below:
Most of those who follow Mayer on Twitter seemed to be supportive of this theory. A fan even went on to state, “Why are you not President?”
Another fan expanded the theory, “J.K. Simmons is playing Commissioner Gordon in the new Justice League film, and then, of course, you know his role in The Accountant…” said @bailey_bomar, to Mayer’s “This guy gets it,” response.
Several other Twitter users also claimed to have an “epiphany” after they read Mayer’s theory. Could it be that Mayer is on to something? It must be noted here that The Accountant also happens to be a Warner Bros. movie and we had heard Affleck promise to write and helm a Batman film (but, we know The Accountant wasn’t one).
Justice League is currently running in cinemas.
