The Avengers Infinity War trailer was simply great. It had conquered the internet and was breathtaking and action-packed.
The heroes of the MCU are at odds with Thanos. And the odds are pretty much stacked up against the good people. With Thanos on Earth to search for the Infinity Stones, the heroes will fight a battle they cannot hope to win.
In this trailer, we had seen Josh Brolin playing the villain and his transformation into a powerful cosmic being. We saw the powers of Infinity Gems.
In the MCU, there 6 infinity gems and five Infinity stones have been introduced, and the soul stone is yet to be discovered.
This is what the Collector had said:
“Before creation itself, there were six singularities. Then the universe exploded into existence, and the remnants of these systems were forged into concentrated ingots… Infinity Stones.”
In an interview, the Russo Brothers had spoken about how they had been inspired by the heist films for Avengers Infinity War:
“With “Infinity War,” the biggest new element to the movie is Thanos and the fact that he’s entering the storytelling in a very bold, strong way, to the degree that he’s almost one of the leads. We’ve shaped an interesting narrative around him that in some ways leans heavily on a heist film in the fact that he’s going after the infinity stones in a much bolder, successful way than he has in the past. The entire movie has that energy of the bad guy being one step ahead of the heroes. We looked at a lot of movies that had that heist-style energy to them, and that brought some inspiration”.
The blue stone is the Space Stone and was used to power the Tesseract during the Chitauri invasion.It is the very first Infinity gem that allows one to be omnipresent. It aids in opening portals which one can use for interstellar teleportation.
The other stone is purple and is the Power Stone. Ronan, the Collector, had been entrusted to steal this, but Peter Quill’s dream had hampered these plans and had decided that it will be better protected by Nova Corps. Thanos must have destroyed the Nova Corps and had retrieved the stone.
Captain America: Civil War had left the fans wondering what will happen to Captain America after Steve Rogers drops his shield. Fans had been a little confused about James Rhodes (Don Cheadle) who had been shot by Vision in his armor. Actor, Don Cheadle had an interview with Good Morning America, and he confirmed the return of his character:
“When you have somebody like Tony who is a master of tech and can create things that can get you over the hump then you can walk again.”
Even Tony Stark cannot cure the paralysis, but the disability will not resist Rhodey from suiting up:
“It’s an augmentation. It’s semi-bionic. I’m like Lee Majors, but twice. I’m the $12 million man.”
We have seen him making a return in the team and marching with Captain America, Winter Soldier, Black Panther, Black Widow, The Hulk, Falcon and the soldiers of Wakanda.
War Machine’s firepower will become useful for our heroes who will now try and deal with the Outriders.
The MCU will expand to around 68 comic-book characters and will appear in this film. The Russo Brothers have also clarified that the last two movies are independent films.
Marvel Studios released a synopsis of Avengers Infinity War:
“An unprecedented cinematic journey ten years in the making and spanning the entire Marvel Cinematic Universe, Marvel Studios’ “Avengers: Infinity War” brings to the screen the ultimate, deadliest showdown of all time. The Avengers and their Super Hero allies must be willing to sacrifice all in an attempt to defeat the powerful Thanos before his blitz of devastation and ruin puts an end to the universe.
Anthony and Joe Russo direct the film, which is produced by Kevin Feige. Louis D’Esposito, Victoria Alonso, Michael Grillo and Stan Lee are the executive producers. Christopher Markus & Stephen McFeely wrote the screenplay. “Avengers: Infinity War” releases in U.S. theaters on May 4, 2018.”
