8 Reasons Why We Might Never Got To See Goonies 2

5.Richard Donner Isn’t Getting Younger

Feldman was obviously disillusioned that his and Astin’s screenplay was never put into production. However, he thinks about more than simply getting a screenwriting credit. The performer turned-musician has raised feelings of trepidation that the venture is particularly sensitive to time.
He pointed out that Richard Donner is 87 years of age and that no one wants to make the movie without him. He further added that he’s the main force behind it. However, as we as a whole know, when you get to that age, things slow down a lot.
Feldman went ahead to clarify that, regardless of how high the interest was, The Goonies 2 just wouldn’t happen without Donner in the director’s seat.

6.Cast Bailed On Comic-Con

Hopes were raised that an official declaration about the sequel was going to come at San Diego’s Comic-Con 2014. In it, the Goonies cast were to come together as a reunionpanel. This was to occur in the Hilton San Diego Bayfront Indigo Ballroom. However, much to the disappointment of Goonies fans in participation, the appearance was scratched off.
The organizersblamed “talentscheduling clashes and unforeseen circumstances” for the late cancelation. They further added that they were “disheartened” for the fans, as it would have been a really significant panel.
