8 Highly Valuable Tapes Hiding In Your Closet.

5. Complete Runs Of TV Series

If you have a complete run of a well-known TV series on VHS, chances are, it’s worth a lot. The more tapes there are in the series, the more costly it’s liable to be. A collection of the first Star Trek series on VHS can sell for anywhere in the range of $80-$100 on eBay. Famous animated series can run significantly higher. As it is, one eBay seller sold his collection of Dragon Ball Z video tapes for over $200. Indeed, even titles that have been reproduced endless times on DVD or Blu-beam still can gather heaps of interest from collectors who want the VHS variant of the show. For instance, a VHS collection of the I Love Lucy TV series got $60. I don’t know about you; however I’d preferably have $60 in my pocket than 42 VHS tapes on the bookshelf.

6. Limited Release Or Unrated Horror Films

The horror films worth tons of money are awkward, B-grade, schlock, amazingly violent and thrillers that were produced in extremely limited release or by a foreign country. Movies include 555, which sells on eBay between $200-$300, California Ax Massacre ($150), and Night Ripper ($175). A couple of releases of famous mass-created horror films are worth a considerable amount, including the first 1978 “MEDA” release of Halloween, which goes for over $200, and the Wizard Video version of The Texas Chainsaw Massacre ($150-$200). Different releases of Evil Dead can get great prices, from $50 for an EMI clamshell version to a lot more, if you have a UK “Not Guilty” sleeve version distributed by Palace Pictures. In fact, one Evil Dead collector has a standing offer of £400 for a copy of this version.
