4. Bastila Shan
In spite of falling very easily into damsel trouble as the events of Star Wars Knights of the Old Republic were drawn to a closure, Bastila Shan was an incredible buddy for the hero and a vital step forward for Star Wars’ female characters in totality.
Bastila spends a great part of the game’s story as the most powerful hero character, helping players as they look to find out more about the Force and their association with it. She holds herself with the sort of balance and control similar to Masters like Qui-Gon Jinn.
It is frustrating, obviously, that she’s pushed into “love interest” region as players reach the game’s last stages. However, even in that frame she maintains a positive impact over the story.
3. Galen Marek – Starkiller
The Force Unleashed came with a promise a new perspective. Eventually, the game wasn’t a success. However, the games’ hero came out of it really well.
Galen Marek begins the game as Darth Vader’s secret apprentice in events occurring between Revenge of the Sith and A New Hope. Vader tasks his understudy, named Starkiller, with searching out the last few Jedi in the world and obliterating them. From the beginning, he complies with the orders of his lord. However, in the long run, better sense wins and he begins to question the Dark Side of the Force. All of a sudden the life of a capable young Sith student is flipped around as he begins to question everything he’s ever known. His ascent to the Light Side is powerful, and his definitive disloyalty and defeat is very devastating.
