7. What is the future of Neill Blomkamp’s Alien movie?
Fans around the world have nothing to worry. Making of Alien: Covenant does not mean that the road to Neill Blomkamp’s Aliens sequel starring Sigourney Weaver has come to an end. Ridley Scott has addressed that it will happen soon, right now it is just on hold until the Prometheus follow up is complete.
Scott said, he will be producing it and the plan so far is to go for it after Alien: Covenant. It is apparently more associated with Ripley, it is more of a sequel and it is from an entirely different angle. He is approaching it from the back end, he said.
News is, according to Sigourney Weaver, Blomkamp’s film will ignore the Alien 3 and Alien: Resurrection films. Also Weaver joined James Cameron and the rest of the cast of Aliens for the 30 years Anniversary reunion at San Diego Comic Con 2016.
