The storyline that had been teased since post-credits of The Avengers is about to actually happen with the arrival of Thanos in Avengers: Infinity War. In the comics, Thanos aims to impress Mistress Death and so he collects the six Infinity Stones that come with power. Rumors hint that the motives are the same in the MCU. What fans know is that Thanos will not be alone in this battle for Earth as he has The Black Order working under him. The Black Order is a group of lethal aliens that have been gathered by Thanos to help him destroy worlds.
There will be a clash of this grandeur, and this will result in casualties and deaths. The Russos are determined to keep stakes higher in Infinity War, and sacrifices are necessary. Joe Russo said:
“I think fans should be prepared for some very intense surprises in these movies. My brother and I believe in stakes; I believe that everything has to come to an end at some point, in order for it to have value, and so I think the audience should be prepared.”
Fans can now speculate as to who will bite the dust in #AvengersInfinityWar. The most understandable would be the death of Steve Rogers. Here are 6 reasons why it is the most plausible to kill off #CaptainAmerica:
6. Captain Barnes
The idea of Bucky carrying Captain America for Steve has been set up in all the Cap movies. The references are subtle in the first 2 films but they highlight a detail: Bucky will be next in line to become Captain America. There is a strong reference to this fact in one deleted scene from Captain America: Civil War.
It has also been theorized that the responsibility would fall upon Falcon, but Bucky seems to be the more probable choice here given all the low-key references.
5. Comic Book Accuracy
Before the release of Captain America: Civil War, fans had speculated that we Steve Rogers would die, as that was the case in comics. Cap does not die in Infinity War comics, but he is defeated in Issue #4 of the Infinity Gauntlet series.
It is unclear if Rogers dies in Infinity Gauntlet series. The Russo Brothers may want to kick the story up a notch by killing Steve, or kill him as his death has been overdue.
4. Tony And Bruce Live
The Russo Brothers have made it clear that main characters from the previous films may end their journey in Infinity War. The major players since The Avengers are Iron Man, Steve Rogers the Hulk and Thor. Recent Avengers 4 set images reveal Bruce Banner and Tony Stark who make it out alive after Infinity War. That leaves the option to kill off Thor, Cap or both.
The photos may be meant to misdirect fans to think that the Science Bros will survive Infinity War.
3. Tony’s Vision
Before Stark tries to grab Loki’s scepter, Wanda tricks him into seeing what he fears most: the fall of the Avengers. While Steve and Natasha are haunted, Tony and Thor see sequences that may be hints of their future. Thor sees the end of Asgard, which will be shown in upcoming Thor: Ragnarok and Tony sees Chitauri invading Earth and Avengers’ have failed to stop them.
This hallucination may become a reality in Avengers: Infinity War.

2. A Mission Well-Accomplished
A Tumblr user pointed out that Steve became Captain America after he realized that he had to rescue Bucky from HYDRA. He gave up his name and shield after accomplishing this task in Captain America: Civil War. Credit for this symbolism goes to the Russo Brothers.
Steve has stripped off the Captain America symbols on his suit in the Infinity War poster. This means he may participate in the events of Infinity War without the title.
1. Emotional Impact
According to Ranker, Captain America is the greatest Avenger. Steve tops likes of Tony Stark and Spider-Man. It is even obvious that the death of a beloved character like him can have the most emotional impact on the audience.
