5 Reasons Why DC’s Arrowverse Is Way Better Than Marvel TV

Marvel and DC Comics are both great in the fact that they are achieving branching out into movies and television making fans’ dreams come true.

But there are articles that are biased towards one instead of celebrating both their strengths and weaknesses, they choose to concentrate on the negatives and create an atmosphere online where being part of fandom creates chaos.

Right now it feels like the creative teams for shows are entering a stretch like what Dimaggio did for Yankees and they are producing hits day-after-day. But here are 5 reasons why Arrow, The Flash, Legends of Tomorrow and Supergirl could be considered better than Marvel Television.

1. It’s Personal

With Marvel, something does not connect with audiences on the same level as seeing Alex and Maggie falling in love. Or, Thea’s plea to Oliver to stay in the Dominator’s grasp.

These shows are interconnected and create characters that we care so deeply about. We spend most of the year with these characters instead of binge-watching characters over the course of the weekend.

2. Possibilities

DC has created two distinct universes which both are thriving. Some find it frustrating that they are not connected though DC’s Multiverse. They have two different Supermans.  With DC having all the freedom with creative decisions, this will lead to great stories that Marvel Television is hindered by being in a shared universe.

3. The Actors

Ritter’s Jessica Jones and Bernthal’s The Punisher stands above all, but DC’s casting of characters has been spot-on. Charlie Cox (Daredevil) and Mike Colter (Luke Cage) are great actors, but Melissa Benoist (Supergirl), Grant Gustin (The Flash) and Stephen Amell (Green Arrow) have brought something special to the version of their characters.

4. Feelings

Marvel Television rarely gives a feeling of overwhelming joy. We all love when Supergirl makes us feel the warm inside when she, Alex, and Hank have a heartfelt talk about family. DC on The CW makes fans happy as long as the quality stays consistent.

5. Slack

The great thing about being a part of a shared universe is that people will stand sub-par efforts as long as other shows are good. With crossover coming to an end with Legends of Tomorrow, one can confidently say that the creative teams have a handle on how to make shared universe on TV. People make the shows, so do not expect perfection and although some think 23-episodes is too much, it allows writers to correct the course.

We are living in a golden age of television and is great to have the characters which we loved since kids are making it to the screen! One of the best about Arrowverse is that it may grow more and add another show. So, we all love DCTV as it gives us something to look forward to each week and it really does feels like the creative team behind the shows love the characters as much as we do.
