Tartakovsky is a Russian-born director, producer and animator who had a chance a brief period between “Attack of the Clones” and “Revenge of the Sith.” For what purpose, you ask? Well, he was allowed to make a series of “Clone Wars” shorts (not the Cartoon Network show which was a bigger hit).
Initially, the shorts were tiny two-to-three minute chunks but later got lengthened to fifteen minutes. he cartoons were … actually really, really good.
These days, Tartakovsky’s genius is being exploited in “Hotel Transylvania” films. Hey ABC hire the guy. And yeah, the title of this essay is misleading. Gotcha!
