5 Past Mistakes That Could Be Repeated in the Star Wars TV Show.

3. Remember the Animated Series ‘Droids’??

The Star Wars universe went into a lengthy period of hibernation after “Return of the Jedi.” It was only in the late ’90s that it made its return and this was a luxury movies those days could afford without fear of being remade with Andrew Garfield. This lengthy slumber was broken only briefly by “Droids” – an animated series that ran for thirteen episodes in 1985.

The cartoon featured C-3PO and R2-D2 but something went completely off there. I feel that the reason for this was that it employed the same pandering-to-children manner that drowned Wicket and the other Ewoks a few years prior. It’s baffling to know that they ditched the right balance of humour-and-heroism that made the duo so effective in the movies. “Droids” just felt like Scooby-Doo in outer space. We know that anything deemed a “dud” in pop culture will find a taker or two online but when the Pac-Man cartoon lasts three times longer than your show, you know you did badly.

4. The ‘Robot Chicken’ Writers Could be at the Helm

Arguably, ‘Robot Chicken’(from the Adult Swim slot) has been the funniest and perhaps the most influential over the last decade or so.Standout moments include the frequent Star Wars references leading to the 2008 episode that was nominated for an Emmy.

Knowing that the writers Seth Green and Matthew Senreich were huge fans of Star Wars, George Lucas made the celebrated move in 2012 of giving them the rights to make a comedy series. According to statements made by Green a few months later, 39 episodes were in the can. There were 62 more scripts written.

Only a 3 minutes something footage could see the daylight.
