5 Darth Vader’s, Where Are They Now?

3. David Prowse (Episodes IV-VI)

Prowse, the body builder, lent his powerful bulk to Darth Vader in the original trilogy. However, his voice wasn’t imposing at all.

At 80, this actor served as youngsters’ road safety superhero, the Green Cross Code man through the 70s and 80s. Furthermore, he went about as physical trainer on some famous movies. This includes helping Christopher Reeves build up for Superman and Cary Elwes for The Princess Bride. He has stayed near the fan circuit consistently, showing up in different fan movies including 2004’s Saving Star Wars. George Lucas banned Prowse from attending Star Wars events in 2010. This was clearly in light of the fact that he thought the performer had “cut off numerous ties”.

4. Sebastian Shaw (Episode VI)

Prowse had been guaranteed that although he wasn’t the voice of Vader, he would play Anakin after his unmasking in Return of the Jedi.

Not a chance. The part went to another British performer, a veteran of the Royal Shakespeare Company. The role was offered at the end of Shaw’s profession. Despite this fact, he followed it up with some TV appearances including a 1988 episode of Casualty. Shaw died at 89 years in 1994, so he didn’t live to see his Force ghost supplanted by Hayden Christensen in the digitally re-mastered DVD version of Return Of The Jedi.
