The experimental anti-hero movie Deadpool was the “Dark Horse” of the comic book genre that dominated the box-office like a champ. Deadpool was different in every right, the promotional approach for the movie was unique, it was the first R-Rated superhero movie, and Deadpool kept breaking the fourth wall throughout the film. Putting that sort of script on the papers and submitting it for the reviews to a studio like Fox is a daunting task. Somehow they managed to convince the producers that the world is ready for a Superhero movie that won’t be shown to the kids.
The overwhelming response to Deadpool has changed the perception of the Studios, and that’s the reason we got the freaking awesome Wolverine movie “Logan” this year. The producers confirmed that they decided to make Logan a Rated R movie only after seeing the widespread success of Deadpool.
Deadpool was not the mainstream hero like Spider-man, X-Men, Batman or Superman. His characters had a massive cult following, but for some reason, Marvel never brought Deadpool to the forefront. But over the years, Marvel Comics has created a lot of fantastic content on Deadpool, and it was ready to make its big screen debut. On top of it, Hollywood already had an actor who was born to play Deadpool’s role, and that was Ryan Reynolds.
The highlight of Deadpool’s personality is his talkative nature, self-deprecating humor, and his incessant need for breaking the 4rth wall by creative means. The makers successfully captured all these essential elements of his persona and represented it to us without holding back, and the audience rewarded that honest approach by pouring their money at the theaters.
We know that after watching Deadpool’s cool avatar in the movie, the new fans want to read more of his humorous escapades from the comic book world. We have collected some of the fan favorite moments from the comics in one single post. Here they are, Enjoy.
