6. A WELL-KEPT SECRET
J. J. Abrams isn’t the only Star Wars director who attempted to keep the plot of his film a mystery. The major secret that Darth Vader was Luke Skywalker’s dad was something the producers tried really hard from getting spilled. As indicated by Hamill, it was just George Lucas, Irwin Kershner and him who knew it when they were recording. James Earl Jones knew it too when he was speaking the lines later on.
On set, David Prowse had been told to say “Obi-Wan killed your father,” so many technicians, actors, and members of the crew did not know the reality until the film debuted.
5. HE HAS NO FATHER
Darth Vader’s mom, Shmi Skywalker, claims that there was no father. If she is stating the truth to Qui-Gon Jinn, as The Phantom Menace suggests, then Anakin Skywalker was conceived by the Force, or by midi-chlorians. This would clarify his remarkable forces, his eminent high midi-chlorian count, and would cement his status as “The Chosen One” who might go ahead to crush the Sith and thereby bring balance to the Force.
