4. Jolt Cola (1985 – 2009)

Before the United States turned into a country of sleepwalking zombies needing refreshment immersed with caffeinated drinks, Jolt Cola burst forward. It gladly broadcasted that it contained “all the sugar and double the caffeine.”

It turned into a popular society marvel. It showed up in Jurassic Park and Gremlins 2, being mentioned in Wayne’s World 2, and motivating both Buzz Cola (“The Simpsons”) and Volt Cola (“Beavis and Butt-Head”). However, the company confronted difficult times in the 2000s. When its parent organization filed for liquidation in 2009, Jolt Cola basically transformed into a caffeinated drink with the innovative moniker “Jolt Energy.”

3. Josta (1995 – 1999)

While Jolt was an exceptionally energized cola, Josta was the honest to goodness caffeinated drink promoted in the United States. Presented in 1995, Josta included caffeine, as well as guarana, in its formula. It turned out to be altogether famous. However, it was stopped by PepsiCo after just four years. Strangely, guarana refreshments are well known in Brazil and other South American nations.  No guarana soft drinks have ever taken off in the U.S.
