9. GOT G-RATED FOR AN ANIMATED SERIES.
The accomplishment of Tales from the Crypt in live-action motivated Silver to consider alternate income streams for its mainstream host, who once sat in with The Tonight Show band. In 1993, ABC disclosed a Saturday morning cartoon show called Tales From the Cryptkeeper. This included a milder way to deal with the morbid material. In it, characters didn’t die and being dismembered was a big NO. Since the Crypt Keeper is basically a decaying body, it would’ve exasperated kids. As a result, the producers supplanted him with an animated substitute. John Kassir was still the voice. It wasn’t a success and was out after two seasons.
