8. Rocky’s Dog
Do you recall the dog that was Rocky’s best mate in the early movies? It turns out, that there was a justifiable reason behind why Rocky got along so well with the pooch. Well, that pooch was Stallone’s. It seemed only logical if Stallone wanted the Rocky character to have a dog, for the actor to have had an association with the creature before shooting began. Why utilize a “stunt dog” when you can have the real thing?
7. Carl Weathers As Apollo Creed
So how did Carl Weathers get the role of Apollo Creed? Surprisingly he got the gig by offending the man who wrote the film. As it is, Weathers had started amid his audition that he could have done way better had he had a real actor reading with him. The actor he was working with was, obviously, none other than Stallone. Stallone could conceivably have been insulted by the verbal poke. The man who might play Rocky was awed with the demeanor that Weathers flashed, as that was what Stallone needed to see from the Creed character.
