In the entire Marvel galaxy, there is no female superhero more powerful than Captain Marvel. She is yet to be seen on the cinema screen, and that’s why most MCU fans are not aware of her or her powers. It will be more than a year before she makes her live-action debut and that’s why we believe you should know about the powers she possesses so that you are clued in on the movie. She is so powerful that she can manage to beat the most powerful DC guy, Superman. Let’s see what makes her so powerful that she would be able to knock down the Kryptonian.
She is energy absorbent!
Superman has a lot of capabilities, but, this is something he can not do. On the other hand, Captain Marvel’s capability to absorb energy is among her key powers. Let’s say Superman uses his heat vision on her; it won’t be effective as she would absorb all that energy. In fact, it is not just the Superman’s Heat Vision; Captain Marvel has been known to absorb sound waves, the repulsor rays of Iron-Man, magic and a lot more in the comic book history.
Heard of seventh sense?
We all know how Spider-Man’s spider-sense makes him unbeatable in a fight. It warns him of approaching danger and therefore, his opponents find him a very difficult target to hit. Similarly, Carol Danvers has her seventh sense which is in essence, her version of spider-sense. It is a precognitive power which lets her foresee an enemy’s attack even before they make their move. Therefore, in a fight, Superman might not even be able to touch her.
Her Binary form
This is her supreme form, and it allows Carol to be at her optimum strength levels or go even beyond that. The extent of her power in the Binary form can’t even be measured, and her variety of attacks become more powerful. She gets more powers as well. Even if Superman gets to his max, he won’t be able to handle Captain Marvel in her binary form.
She Fights Better
In terms of physical combat, we are aware that Superman is not as good a fighter as others like Wonder Woman, though he is extremely powerful. If you weaken him or take his super strength away by using Kryptonite, then an expert fighter like Batman would be able to beat him down. Carol Danvers is a highly skilled fighter as she has been trained in combat by the Air Force and also the CIA, therefore, using her skills and powers, she would be able to overcome Superman.
She is a superior journalist
Similar to Clark Kent, Carol Danvers is also a journalist. Before becoming Captain Marvel and getting the superpowers, Carol was a highly promising journalist, a magazine editor, and a freelance writer. As far as Clark Kent is concerned, he was not even able to figure out the real identity of Bruce Wayne in Batman v Superman.
The Galactus Factor
Is there anything better than having the Avengers give you cover if you are Captain Marvel? Yes! Having Galactus is even better. Galactus is known to be among the mightiest cosmic beings in the entire Marvel Universe, and he is on her side. During their battle with Galactus, Captain Marvel and her team managed to change the core of his existence from devourer to Lifebringer, and since then he has always been her buddy. Superman has no such almighty fellow on his side.
Her energy blasts are way too strong
Captain Marvel’s standard attack is her energy blasts. However, they are not just typical energy bursts, but, photon blasts comprising of cosmic energy. In case she attains her Binary form then these energy attacks become deadlier. She can easily absorb Superman’s heat vision and then fire back a more powerful version of his energy merged with hers. That would be hot enough to melt the Man of Steel.
Her Cosmic Awareness
She is not only capable of anticipate incoming attacks and respond to them proactively, but, Capatain Marvel also has a power called Cosmic Awareness. It is linked to her Seventh Sense, therefore, in case Superman plugs into the Sun to charge himself, Captain Marvel would be aware of that, and such a vital information would help her plan her next attack on the Superman.
Gravity Control
We have already figured out how Captain Marvel is incredibly powerful and Superman won’t be able to take her down. Carol Danvers has an equal if not a higher number of powers compared to Superman. Another power that she has is that she can control Gravity. While Superman can overcome gravity, however, such a powerful control over gravity would hold Superman down for a few seconds, and that would be enough for Captain Marvel to make her move.
Red Sun Radiation
There are not too many weaknesses of Superman besides the Kryptonite. However, another weakness of his is the red Sun radiation. Although it doesn’t hurt him physically if he is exposed to the red sunlight, it renders him powerless and similar to a normal human being. Whereas in her Binary form, Captain Marvel can handle all kinds of energies, even solar radiation or red Sun radiation. If she fires it on Superman, he would be done and dusted!
