8. STARCRASH
This Italian film claims to have been written before the 1977 arrival of STAR WARS. I doubt that. That’s because this film hit screens in 1978, with a cast that incorporates a youthful David Hasselhoff and Christopher Plummer as the circumstantially named miscreant The Emperor. STARCRASH is more like a softcore B-motion picture adaptation of STAR WARS as opposed to a true copy. Still, it’s worth watching.
7. SPACE RAIDERS
SPACE RAIDERS is a Roger Corman creation. It is not only a rip-off of STAR WARS but also really re-utilizes footage and sets from another Corman duplicate of George Lucas’ film titled BATTLE BEYOND THE STARS. SPACE RAIDERS feels more like a Han Solo motion picture as opposed to a genuine STAR WARS film. However, it is still no place close to the genuine movies. Nevertheless, aficionados of Corman’s brand of cheddar will love this movie quite a lot.
