A while ago when I was a child, in the days prior to the internet, it was viewed as a type of child rearing to switch on Cartoon Network and plop your kids before it. Maybe, if my era’s folks had been calmer, they may have seen what they were really submitting their kids to. Here are ten of the awkward cartoons that our parents should have restricted us from watching them :
10. The Powerpuff Girls
Sugar, spice and all things decent (also Chemical X) were the formula to make a lovable trio of young lady superheroes. Blossom, Buttercup and Bubbles were power girls. They even sent their male enemies, The Rowdy Rough Boys going straight up in a fist fight. It was all great fun until this person appeared: The villain they just allude to as “Him” is an effeminate devil. He dresses like an extra in The Rocky Horror Picture Show. Furthermore, he talks with a chillingly reverberate and piercing voice. If the character’s objective in life was to scare little kids, well then, he did a good job!

9. Cow and Chicken
I don’t have to tell you that a show with two or three bodiless legs could sire a cow and a chicken is a tad bit botched up. However, cartoons are loaded with strolling, talking animal/human hybrids. Yet Cow and Chicken took things a little too far.
As it is, there was the upper portion of their parents being kept in a closet. Why? I have no clue. And yes, there was a pig with its forelimbs tied behind its back and a ball choked in its mouth… WHAT THE….?!?!?!!?
