4. Rey Is A Skywalker
As indicated by the concept artist Iain McCaig, there was an early draft of The Phantom Menace that had Shmi and Qui-Gon romantically connected. Keeping in mind it didn’t make it into the film, leftovers of the thought remain. He then segued, clearly into saying “…And now we have a new Skywalker.” So could Luke have had a secret illicit relationship with an ordinary native? Was the planned relationship betweenShmi and Qui-Gon restored for Luke and Rey’s mom?
Well, it’s quite a lot to expect that Luke will be Rey’s dad after KyloRen was revealed to be Ben Solo. That doesn’t mean she can’t be a Skywalker. Obviously, she could be related to Leia, or to Anakin? On the other hand, perhaps she is really him reincarnated?
3. Luke Has New Powers
A particular scene in Episode VIII demonstrates that Luke has grown new, unnerving powers that show when he, Kylo and Rey meet on Ahch-To. It would a first when we’ve seen that kind of force. As it is, for the most part it’s limited to wielding lightsabers, mind traps and telekinesis and Force Lightning on the dark side. New powers are more than welcome. Furthermore, Kylo poses a major danger to warrant a greater reaction, especially after he killed Han Solo.
