With many rumors of Tony Stark leaving Marvel Cinematic Universe after the Phase 3, there might be little chance that his character could be replaced. If this happens, here are 10 characters that can replace him as the Iron Man:
1. Riri Williams
Riri Williams was selected by Tony Stark to soon replace him as Iron Man. The teenager is a prodigy who reverse-engineered Tony Stark’s suit and built one of her own from scratch by using some materials she found around the campus. She might be the closest thing that Marvel can ever replace Tony Stark for in the new Phase.
2. Pepper Potts
In the comics, Pepper Potts was Happy Hogan’s wife, but she worked for Tony Stark. When Ezekiel Stane attacked her and Iron Man, Pepper had a shrapnel very close to her heart. Stark designed a suit just for her, The Mark 1616. Iron Man 3 had seen Pepper being a hero, and so she can replace Tony if the chance comes.
3. James Rhodes
James Rhodes is Tony Stark’s friends and has donned the War Machine suit in Iron Man movies. He might not have the technical brilliance that Tony has, but he is a military force by nature and can use tactics to battle his enemies. In the comics, Rhodes had battled Mandarin, Firebrand, Radioactive Man, Thunderball, Zodiac, Vibro, Krang in the Iron Man suit, and has even had Hawkeye invite him to West Coast avengers as he thought that Rhodes was Tony.
4. Happy Hogan
Before Happy Hogan was Tony Stark’s bodyguard, he was a boxer in New York. Happy had proved himself to be a selfless man who saved Tony many times when he went on a deep end of addiction. Hogan had donned the Iron Man suit when Tony Stark was unavailable. Hogan joined Iron Legion to battle Mandarin in the Iron Man suit.
5. The Iron Legion
The Iron Legion has Happy Hogan, Eddie March, Michael O’Brien, Bethany Cabe, and Carl Walker. The short-lived team had defeated Ultimo when The Avengers could not.
6. Mary Jane Watson
This may be a surprise to many, but Mary Jane Watson is not just a character who is used by villains to get to Spiderman. Mary Jane has left these things and works for stark industries and has access to his suits and wore the iron spider suit. This gives her a chance to be the next iron man on the big screen.
7. Natasha Stark
Natasha Stark is a female Tony Stark, and you can even say Tony Stark in a parallel universe. The only barring her becoming the next Tony Stark is that Natasha and Captain America are lovers and the civil war could not happen.
8. Arno Stark
This may be a shock for many of the Tony Stark fans and even Tony himself that he is adopted and that Arno Stark is a biological son of the stark families. Due to his health issues, Arno needed some medical assistance and lives in a secret hospital.
9. Iron Suit
Tony Stark can produce many suits and robots, and he could protect the world, and leave controls over them and retire but only if they turn out to be the good guys. If the same thing that happened with Ultron repeats, this might create a big problem. But if things go well, MCU may not have a problem regarding replacing the character.
10. Squirrel Girl
Squirrel Girl has now become a famous figure in the Marvel comic books and can prove to be popular among fans. She has been known to wear an Iron suit.
